Graced by the Deputy President, H.E. Rigathi Gachagua to cabinet secretaries including Trade, Investments and Industry CS, Hon. Moses Kuria; EAC, ASALS & Regional Development CS, Rebecca Miano and KAM officials, the KAM humanitarian initiative held on 28th October 2022 at Movenpick Hotel, Nairobi in partnership with the Government of Kenya was a success.
Manufacturers came together and donated Ksh 104 Million to aid those affected by the ongoing drought. Due to the famine situation cutting across 23 counties in the country, the partnership was essential in aiding those communities through the provision of food.
The Deputy President commented on the need to grow our agricultural produce so as to curb the food crisis. KAM Chairman concluded that for the country’s economy to thrive, there should be the inclusion of all the communities- no community should be left out.
The fundraiser ended with a donation of Ksh. 104 Million that would aid in food donations across the affected counties facilitated by the Red Cross. With the ongoing food crisis in the country, people, organizations and the government are coming together and chipping in where they can to help manage the crisis -this is indeed a beautiful thing to witness.
